Antique Cutting Board

France, 20th Century

Antique One-Of-A-Kind Exactly As Pictured

Found in a village outside of Lyon, this antique French cutting board was cut from a single pale plank, with a tall handle rising from the top corner and a small drilled hole for hanging on a kitchen wall. The wide rectangular face was made for the bigger jobs, the loaf of country bread or the long board of vegetables on their way to the pot. Sylvie hangs it from its original hole beside the stove, or lays it flat behind a board of cheese with grapes spilling over the edge.
