Found in Lyon, this rattan chaise is Carl Öjerstam's Karlskrona, made for IKEA in the 1990s and named after the old naval town on Sweden's south coast. It is woven entirely in natural rattan, one continuous curve that dips low in the middle and rises at each end to follow a reclining body. Vintage IKEA has become a genuine collector's market, and Öjerstam's rattan chaises are among the hardest of them to find, quietly sought after by the design dealers who once passed them by. Sylvie sets it by a window in the sun, the one seat in the house made for doing nothing at all.
Minor variations from the images may occur unless otherwise noted. All sales are final.
Notes from Sylvie:
Dear collector, these pieces have been used for many years and may show light wear consistent with their age. The reed and wood frame are in excellent condition, and the piece is sturdy overall.
All items are final sale.
