Antique One-Of-A-Kind Sylvie Favorite

A dealer drove five hours to meet Sylvie in a Villeneuve-lès-Avignon parking lot, and thank goodness he did. It was love at first sight. From Spain and dating to the 19th century, Spanish tables from this period were built with a balance of structure and ornament - meant to hold daily life while still showing the hand of the maker. The top is a single wide plank with a softly worn edge, sitting on carved legs with that distinctive movement you only see in Spanish work. The iron stretcher below isn’t just decorative - it anchors the table, a detail often added to stabilize longer spans while quietly elevating the design. Sylvie loves it set where people gather, chairs pulled in, something always happening across the surface.
