Antique Rare One-Of-A-Kind

Found in Holland, where Sylvie's new friends welcomed her with a pot of traditional Dutch soup before taking her through their warehouse, this 19th-century coffee table is the one that stopped her in her tracks. The top lifts on hinges to open a hidden storage compartment, and the scalloped apron along the base is the one decorative flourish on a piece built mostly for use. Sylvie places it in front of a sofa with books stacked on top and extra throws stored inside, ready for a cold night.
