Rare Brutalist Dining Chair

They look like they were built to outlast the table, the house, and possibly the people sitting in them. Found in Avignon, and made from solid pine, this dining chair leans into that thick, honest construction you see in mid-century rural workshops, with wide plank seats, blocky legs, and simple cut backrests that feel more carved than refined. The proportions and joinery nod toward Alpine and chalet traditions, where furniture was made sturdy first and shaped second, meant for daily use in mountain homes rather than formal dining rooms.
