Found in Barjac, we fell in love with this primitive desk instantly. Crafted from solid pine with a wide plank top, the simple square legs joined by stretchers, and a scalloped apron add a gentle decorative edge to its otherwise straightforward build. Originally made as a farmhouse writing or utility table, it would have handled ledgers, letters, and daily tasks without ceremony. Sylvie loves it as a pared back desk or console where its pale wood, visible knots, and quiet irregularities set the tone for a room that values substance over polish.
Minor variations from the images may occur unless otherwise noted. All sales are final.
Notes from Sylvie:
The drawers open with one wooden knob and one metal loop. The desk has a raw pine surface with some grey discoloration on the surface. As with many antiques, this piece may show gentle repairs, cracks, scratches, holes, years worth of patina, and stains - just the way we like it.
