19th c. Large Gilt Mirror

France, 19th Century

$1,195

Antique One-Of-A-Kind Hard To Find
It’s easy to imagine this mirror catching candlelight as someone dressed for an evening out in 19th century France. Found in Avignon, this gilt mirror was likely made for a bedroom or boudoir, its shaped frame and beaded trim designed to elevate the simple act of getting ready. The surface shows natural blooming and soft age marks from decades of use, and the gilt frame has thinned in places where hands once lifted and adjusted it. Sylvie likes this set above a dressing table or placed in a hallway to check your makeup before heading out the door.

Minor variations from the images may occur unless otherwise noted. All sales are final.

This is an antique mirror frame, the glass has minor black age spots. The frame has flaking gilt, and chunks of the plaster details missing. We think this only adds to its beauty.
