Rare Sculptors Table

France, 19th Century

$1,895

Antique Hard To Find Wood
A sculptor’s table is as rare as they come. Found in Avignon and once used in a Roquefort artist’s workshop, this piece was built for hands-on work, turning and tilting as its maker shaped clay or stone. The wide square top still rotates, and yes, it wobbles a touch, the way well-used tools often do. Now it brings that same creative energy into a home. Sylvie likes it as a side table or pedestal for a favorite vase or stack of art books, where the faint spin of the top feels like a quiet reminder to keep things moving.

Minor variations from the images may occur unless otherwise noted. All sales are final.

Notes from Sylvie:

The tabletop rotates on the metal hardware of the base. The pieces can come apart and ship separately. The wood has greyed from years of use. As with many antiques, this piece may show gentle repairs, cracks, scratches, holes, years worth of patina, and stains - just the way we like it.
