Bleached Oak Buffet

France, 20th Century

$3,595

Antique One-Of-A-Kind Jaw Dropper Wood
This 1930s bleached oak buffet, sourced from a bastide in Aix-en-Provence, brings quiet grandeur with its broad frame, pale patina, and original tasseled keys still intact. The oak has been mellowed to a soft tone that feels timeless, while the interior shelves offer ample storage, just as they once held linens and tableware for a Provençal household. Sylvie loves this as a console under your TV or an anchor to a dining room or entryway ready to hold your glassware, ceramics, or whatever treasures you recently brought back from the antique market.

Minor variations from the images may occur unless otherwise noted. All sales are final.

Notes from Sylvie:

This solid piece is in remarkably good condition. Its heavy for sure and has been repaired over the years. The interior shelves are newer than the original casement. It comes with original keys on tassels. As with many antiques, this piece may show gentle repairs, cracks, scratches, holes, years worth of patina, and stains - just the way we like it.
