Antique Copper Pot - Large

France, 20th Century

$375

Antique Exactly As Pictured One-Of-A-Kind
Sylvie found this copper poissonière in Villeneuve-lès-Avignon, and it’s a beauty. A 19th-century French fish kettle, it was built long and oval to hold a whole trout or salmon, complete with a fitted lid and small riveted feet to keep it lifted off the hearth. The copper shows the hammer marks of its making, its surface worn from decades of use and since restored to bring back its glow. Sylvie imagines it now as a centerpiece in the kitchen, its history visible in every dent and rivet.
